CAIRO – 1 August 2018: “Egyptians abroad set the finest examples of loyalty to Egypt,” said Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram Tuesday during the “Your Vacation at Your Home Country” initiative.
The initiative was attended by Governor of the Central Bank Tarek Amer, Head of the Central Agency for Mobilization and Statistics Khairat Barakat, and other government officials.
“Egypt is the heart of the world and is targeted. It is going through a war on the ground and is facing a war of information,” the minister stressed, adding that Egyptians should beware of the rumors that spread to destroy the Egyptian society.
“You are our soldiers and heroes, just like our soldiers in Sinai who protect us from terrorists and sacrifice their lives for our stability,” Makram said to the Egyptian expatriates.
The Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates said in a statement issued Sunday that the one-day initiative is held at the premises of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The initiative was organized by the Ministry of Immigration to invite Egyptians abroad to spend their holidays in Egypt. A total of 573 people from different countries registered in the initiative.
The governor of the Central Bank said that the economic situation in Egypt witnessed a major transformation caused by Egyptians at home and abroad.
He also added that Egyptian abroad bear heavy burdens to maintain Egypt’s stability and security; the Egyptian expats also supported the economy through bank transfers.
Minister of Immigration Makram previously said that the initiative aims to promote the connection between Egyptians abroad and their homeland and attract their investments to participate in the development process.
The Ministry of Immigration has launched several initiatives in the last period to better communicate with Egyptian expats; such as the Roots Revival initiative, which came within the framework of a cooperation protocol signed by Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece in December 2017.
